How Do I Let It Go?

There are many aspects of life that you cannot control nor should you try to control. Once in a while a challenge comes up that must ride itself to the end for all to be revealed and resolved.  You want to resolve these situations quickly, yet the mess becomes bigger.  The web becomes more entangled with the branches of the situation twining them around the problem.

Take yourself away from the worries and find yourself in a place of peace amongst the pain. Find yourself in a place of solace amongst the noise.  Find yourself enraptured with the joyful happenings around you to forget the web that weaves the situation in its spot.

Find time to sing. Find time to dance.  Find time to shout to the heaven loud and clear.  Find time to breathe.  Find time to laugh.  Find time to love.

Find time to LET IT ALL GO!

I have always found the song “Come From the Heart” by Kathy Mattea to be the most inspirational song to lift up my spirits and release all that is consuming my space at this moment. I sing and dance and let it all go with this song.   I hope you will too!

  1. Sometimes it’s really hard to let it go, but if you want to move you have to find that inner peace or your struggles will continue. It was especially hard for me i always thought that i have to fix things, but usually i just made things worse, however few years ago i started to meditate a lot, and i found than inner peace that helps me to look at things with fresh mind. Thanks for sharing.

  2. You are so right that we need to let it go. I just wish all of the people who were protesting today after Trump’s inauguration could do the same. It does no one any good to be so negative. Whether they voted for him or not, he’s our President now and they need to get on board. Another song this article reminds me of is “I Hope You Dance,” which always expresses this sentiment to me. Thanks for a great article!

    1. Thank you! I see so many who hold onto the energies that are holding them in captivity and not allowing their own selves to shine. It’s time to embrace who we are, let go of the angst, sadness, and disappointments and see the future for its optimism in our own personal lives. We are the writers of our own lives and need to figure out how to let go of anyone or anything else writing in our books of life.

  3. This is a great article. I have recently been practising ‘letting it go”. I read a book called “the game” and it changed my views 100% on life and religion. As it is more about state of mind than it is about going to church. As much I as I want to believe and let go of fear and hope that the universe has my back. It is very difficult. Any advice?

  4. Hi Kerry,

Great article, I really enjoyed reading it!
The words of this song are absolutely fantastic. I should try them as much as possible as I am kind of anxious person and take things very deeply in life. Yes, we truly need to find time for the most important things in life!
Thank you for this excellent post!

  5. This is the second post I’ve read today on stepping back and learning to let go. This used to be the hardest thing for me but when I learned the Hoopononono I found it much easier to “let go and let God”. I like the song you posted and Katie has great songs and I do appreciate your sharing on this. As it touched me, I believe it will touch many others.
