    I am currently fascinated about essential oils. I’ve recently learned their benefits on our health in a documentary I watched. I love frankincense oil. I usually massage it through my temples, or behind my neck. It makes me relax after a busy long shift day in the emergency room.

    I’m going to try this tea mix. I’ve heard the benefits of green tea, but was never really attracted to it. Probably because I’m trying to abstain from any source of caffeine or theophylline (makes me nervous a lot!). Do you know if green tea contains a lot of theophylline? I’d be willing to try, considering all the positive aspects of it.

    I’d never heard of Bergamot but I’m certainly willing to try given all the benefits it can add to one’s health. And I’m already sold to ginger! Love that stuff!

    1. Hello, RN Didi! The green tea has about 70% less caffeine than coffee, but does contain theophylline, as does chocolate. Green tea has another substance in the tea, amino acid L-Theanine which simultaneously combined with stimulants in the tea, calms the nervous system and enhances concentration abilities.

      Bergamot is the added flavor in Earl Gray tea if you want to know its flavor.

    Hmmm. Bergamot? I have never heard of it. Thank goodness for informative sites like yours. I am often open to ways of calming my nerves and methods to escape from the matrix of this reality. Everything that you mentioned in regards to Bergamot I will try; sooner than later. I just have to make sure I make my way to an oil store. Is Bergamot common in most essential oil retailers? Is it best in oil form or better to consume it?

    1. Hi Chris,
      I buy my oils from an online company because I know of the purity of them, but you can find Bergamot oil in Sprouts, Whole Foods, and those upscale health food/ vitamin stores. You can rub Bergamot on your feet or on the back of your neck (a drop is enough). You can consume it in small amounts in tea (less than a drop is plenty!)

  3. I am wondering why the title of this post has green tea in it, but I don’t see anything about green tea in the post.

    I love using essential oils. My favorite ways to use them is in a diffuser or in skin care. I love to make my own facial oils with them. Right now my favorites are blue tansy and frankincense. What is your opinion about the internal use of essential oils?

    1. Oh my goodness.. I cannot believe I overlooked the health benefits of green tea on this post and only focused on the essential oils. I will edit my post and get that information in there STAT!

      I am completely on board with the essential oils taken internally as long as you purchase from a company that is certified therapeutic. I have food allergies and react to synthetics, so I know that I can use the oils from one company without any reactions- which tells me they are pure from the source. I use them internally in moderation and am good with it.

  4. The past few days have been tense in my house. We’re having to care for elderly parents. One has dementia and the other is having serious heart issues.

    Our routines have been tossed out the window and this always makes me stressed and irritable. I found your wonderful website while searching for some way to re-discover my inner Zen place.

    Actually, I have tried ginger and green tea in the past and really liked it. I had just forgotten about it. And, I’ve never tried bergamot with green tea or as a topical but will try it now.
